The mixtape has also produced a few fan-favorites, including “Successful” and “Best I Ever Had,” which is presently gaining momentum at radio stations, including New York’s Hot 97. Cam'Ron Gears Up For Release Of Crime Pays

Submitted by Str8hiphop.com on April 13, 2009 - 1:16am.

A few years ago, Cam'ron seemed poised to become one of hip-hop's most successful artists.

By 2006, he had released five studio albums, including "Come Home With Me," which sold 1.2 million copies, and "Purple Haze," which sold 560,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

But after a falling-out within his Dipset crew -- whose other members are rappers Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Freekey Zekey -- a public dispute with 50 Cent and his mother's multiple strokes, Cam'ron vanished from public view. Aside from a 2007 YouTube video, which showed him standing next to a kiddie pool with palm trees, warning that it would be a hot summer, he stayed away from the music scene.

Per Billboard.com, the song will rocket 38 spots to debut in first place on tomorrow's chart thanks to a major assist from digital sales. In fact, selling nearly 465,000 downloads for the week, "Boom Boom Pow" gives the Peas the biggest digital week ever for a group. Coldplay previously held the high mark after "Viva La Vida" moved 253,000 units last summer. Flo Rida, however, remains the all-around champ with a 636,000-strong download week in February.
