SHH: Where are you from?

Big Shan: Detroit, Michigan

SHH: What's the hip hop scene like over there?

Big Shan: Everybody just getting their shine on... That's just what it is round here.

SHH: When did you feel you wanted to start a career in music?

Big Shan: After witnessing the crazy response we got off of "Eatin' Good", which was the first song I recorded.

SHH: What artists influence your music if any?

Big Shan: Nobody influences me, I just do me. However I do enjoy and support many artists music.

SHH: How would you describe your style/sound to the people?

Big Shan:  Unique… That’s the only word to describe me.  

SHH: What are you working on right now?

Big Shan: Supplying the streets' demand for not only hits, but music theycan relate to, whether it motivates them or they just bang my music as anthems while they grind & shine.

SHH: What's your outlook for 2007 (What are your goals for the year)?

Big Shan: Just staying focused and continuing to make "maejor" moves.

SHH: What producers are you working with?

Big Shan: Bei Maejor… That’s my man right there. The best out! Look out for him if you haven’t heard of en already.

SHH: Who would you like to work with in the future?

Big Shan: Bei Maejor… (Laughs) That’s it for me. He’s the only artist out right now I can really vibe with. Maybe I’ll get on with some other artists sooner or later, but right now he’s the one.

SHH: What do you feel separates you from the next artist trying to make it in rap?

Big Shan: You can see me and holla at me just as much as you hear my music. I’m right here for people. Oh, and I don't sleep either my music is where it’s out. When you hear it you’ll see what I’m talking about.

SHH: If not music what would you be doing?

Big Shan: I'd still be doing my thing as Co-CEO of one of Detroit’s heaviest party promoters, F.B.G.M. ENT.  and still holding down my executive director position with one of Detroit’s freshest-flyest designers, ASR Collections, Inc.
