Destiny's Child diva Kelly Rowland will conduct a 20-member Houston choir. Her "individual style and charm will be finessed throughout the choreography, the costumes and her choir's overall stage presence."

Rowland won't be at this preliminary audition, but she will be in town to help choose and rehearse with her final group in the coming weeks.

Other choruses will be conducted by Patti Labelle and country singer Blake Shelton.

An NBC spokesperson stresses that this is not a search for a gospel chorus. Those who make it onto the show will perform current pop hits and holiday classics.

The winning choir and its conductor will choose a prize to "help their community," which can be anything from revitalizing a school gym or a neighborhood park to helping a local charity. (Source: Handstamp.com)
