Interview By Reginald Henderson - Staff Writer

SHH: Where are you from?

Young Decadez: I'm from Bakersfield, CA ... It’s about an hour and a half away from Los Angeles.

SHH: What's the hip hop scene like over there?

Young Decadez: The Hip Hop scene out this way really varies. I can't pinpoint what it's exactly like, but let’s just say it’s a mix of underground and mainstream.

SHH: When did you feel you wanted to start a career in music?

Young Decadez: Actually, ever since I was real young ( perhaps around 5), I always loved music and was always interested in how to play instruments and figuring out what goes together.

SHH: What artists influence your music if any?

Young Decadez: Well.... My music is not influenced by anyone really... I like to innovate for myself. A few producers that I really appreciate are Timbaland, The Neptunes and Just Blaze. They are always really reinventing themselves when it comes to music.

SHH: How would you describe your style/sound to the people?

Young Decadez: A lot of people say I’m extremely versatile. Personally I feel is if my sound is heavy drums and memorable melodies.

SHH: What are you working on right now?

Young Decadez: Well right now I'm working on the Doey Rock & Black Zeek album... Then I'll be working on The Montana Express for Doey Rock. Those are the only projects that I'm focused on, but I have a lot of different projects I'm submitting to at the moment.

SHH: What's your outlook for 2008 (What are your goals for the year)?

Young Decadez: Well my goals for the rest of this year is just to get out of the barrel... There are so many producers nowadays that it's easy to get lost in the shuffle.

SHH: What artists are you working with?

Young Decadez: So man artist... Black Child (Murder INC), Boxie (J-Records/Pologround Music), Doey Rock(Sick Wid It Records), Black Zeek(i.N.D),  TeamKnoc, St.Laz & more…

SHH: Who would you like to work with in the future?

Young Decadez: I would love to work with Missy Elliot, Ludacris and Busta Rhymes. Perhaps even all on one track... It'd be a serious problem.

SHH: What do you feel separates you from the next producer trying to make it in production?

Young Decadez: Well truly and honestly, I think it’s my variety and drive. I have the mentality where if I don't do music that someone else will be working to take my spot and bring me down on the ladder. When you’re not hungry,  you don’t succeed. When I say variety, I mean all the different things I do. I rap ,Sing , produce, play the guitar, audio engineer(to an extent), do vocal arrangements, compose and I song writer.

SHH: If not music what would you be doing?

Young Decadez: (Laughs) If I wasn't doing music ... I don't think I'd survive. Its The only thing that keeps me going besides family.

SHH: Where can people check out some of your music?

Young Decadez: Hmm... I usually keep the MySpace updated so I guess I can say my MySpace. It's www.myspace.com/youngdecadez

SHH: Any last words for the people in closing?

Young Decadez: Definitely. To all the artist and producers out there that are grinding to get where they need to get. Keep going. The harder you grind, the easier it is to be recognized. Also thanks for everyone’s support.
