SHH: Tell people who you are where you’re from?

Ida Boujie: Well, my name is Ida Boujie and my last name is pronounced
‘Booj-ay,’ you got to say it in a smoothly to pronounce it right, (laughs).
I’m originally from Los Angeles, California but I now reside in Seattle, Washington (sigh)
(Laughs).

SHH: What type of modeling would you consider yourself?

Ida Boujie: Oh boy! Let’s see, I model Fashion, lingerie, implied nude and I’m bit of an actress!
My friends and family look at me as being the “Jackie of All trades.” So I’m a Model slash actress.

SHH: How did you get your start in modeling?

Ida Boujie: My late father was the one who inspired me to become a model slash actress. The reason why he inspired me was because he was in the Hollywood industry as a well known brass musician during his time and that was like in the nineteen-thirties through the early nineteen-seventies. Hence that I said the nineteen-thirties (laughs), my mom and dad had a huge age gap between them when I was born. So it was when I was seven-years-old that I started modeling in runway shows for stores like JC Penny, Nordstrom’s, Sears and so on. I stopped when I was twelve-years-old because school was much more important.  As soon as I turned eighteen-years-old and graduated High school, I got back into modeling again.

SHH: What type of modeling do you prefer?

Ida Boujie: I Love, Love High fashion modeling. I like to wear the latest trends in my photos and mixing up my fashion to make my own fashion statement (giggles). Plus the different looks with the make-up and hair, it’s just so much fun and actually exciting (laughs).

SHH: Would you ever do a spread in a magazine such as Playboy?

Ida Boujie: Are you kidding me?! (Laughs), I would love to! But I don’t think I should reveal the “goodies,” just yet (laughs). Though I did email the Playboy my modeling resume and a few of my lingerie pictures, just to see if I‘d get back any response. The very next day I got an e-mail saying “We love your look! Please send three nude pictures.” I was in shocked! I screamed (laughs) but then before I called my photographer I changed my mind. I guess you can say I was a little “chicken,” to show the full Monty (laughing) so I never did a nude shoot. But I plan to get into Playboy before I’m old and moldy (laughing).

SHH: Have ever done music video work and if so for who?

Ida Boujie: Yes.  When I was eight-teen I was living in Los Angeles for a minute and while I was there I had the chance to audition to be in Ludacris’s music video for “Act a Fool,” as a one of the car models in the tunnel shot. I was on the set from five-pm till five-am the next day. I also did a little bit of extra work for NBC before I went back to Seattle.

SHH: What inspires you to do what you do on a daily basis?

Ida Boujie: I’m not a full-time model nor am I a full-time “plain Jane,” (laughing). My fans feedback, girls that choose to hate on me and the past memories of my modeling experience is what inspires me to keep on modeling and acting. I’m taking acting classes. And when I’m not modeling I’m working and going to college. The money, power and respect inspires me when I’m working my eight to five shifts in the doctor’s office and going to night classes for my nursing degree. So I get my hustle on! (Laughs).

SHH: Do you have any advice for girls that want to get into modeling?

Ida Boujie: Of course! Make sure modeling is something you really want to do. When you are approached by someone offering a gig, make sure it’s a legit gig because there’s a lot of modeling scams out there. Get some photo shoots lined up and build your portfolio and always be about business so that you can show that you are serious about your modeling career. You also have to know what you want to do and what you don’t want to do when it comes to modeling. Be sure that you make it clear to any agents, booking agents and managers about your modeling comfort zones and non-comfort zones. No model want to be do a gig where she feels absolutely uncomfortable or is dealing with some sleaze-ball agent.

SHH: So how long have you been modeling?

Ida Boujie: Ah man, I have to count the years (giggles). As you already see I’m the type of model who likes to explain with depth (laughs) so when I was younger I modeled for five years. Now that I’m a little older I’ve been modeling for about seven years and going.

SHH: Does your taste in music influence your personal style while in front of the camera?

Ida Boujie: Yes and no. If there’s rock and roll playing while I’m shooting a lingerie shoot I’m not going to get up and change my out of what I already have on and get into some grunge outfit (laughs). When I’m at a photo shoot I like to bring my own music. When I’m doing a lingerie shoot I put on the sexy stuff (laughs) R and B. But overall a model like me needs music to get through a photo shoot. There’s nothing worse than to do a photo shoot in silence, oh god (laughs). The tempo of the music plays a part in a models shoot too. For me, I like to shoot with a mix of fast and medium slow tempos.

SHH: So what’s your taste in music then? Let’s talk about that. What can we find in your CD player or IPod?

Ida Boujie: Ooooh I’m a West Coast girl and I love to listen to the west coast cuts (laughs).  But I also love the east coast and the dirty south, hip-hop music that is. Nowadays I don’t have a certain CD in my stereo; I have a CD with a bunch of mixes on it that I have in my CD player. I got everything from Snoop to Talib Kweli and Outkast on my CD’s.

SHH: So out of those who is your favorite?

Ida Boujie: Oh my god! You’re killing me (laughs). That’s a real hard question to answer but like I said in the beginning, I am a west coast girl so I would have to say Snoop Dog (laughs).  But Talib is a good friend of mine so Talib, no hard feelings buddy! (Laughing).

SHH: Do you have any other talents we should know about?

Ida Boujie: Yes I do! (Giggles) I do traditional Tongan, Tahitian and Hula dancing.
I’ve done all that since I was three-years-old. And I can carry a tune, I’m still a bit shy to sing out in the open but I’ll get over that soon (laughing).

SHH: What are your goals for the immediate future?

Ida Boujie: To finish up my schooling so that I can get my nursing degree and to keep on modeling for as long as I can. Modeling is great but not really steady unless you make it to the big time. So I decided to use nursing as a back-up for me. In this world and time, a model has to have beauty and brains.

SHH: Where do you see yourself ten years from now?

Ida Boujie: I see myself as a Successful business woman, nurse, model, wife and a mother.

SHH: Who are some of your favorite fashion designers?

Ida Boujie: I only have a few favorites because I really don’t care about the top brands. I more into fashions that look super hot and is different. Most of the designers that I favor are unknown names and I think that is very cool. But as for the top brands I like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Coach, BCBG, BEBE and Chlo’e.

SHH: In your opinion what makes a woman sexy?

Ida Boujie: I find women who are humble, classy, funny and confident to be very sexy.

SHH: Name three necessities you need to get going before a shoot?

Ida Boujie: My Mascara, lip-stick and Curling Iron

SHH: Name two weaknesses you have and cannot deny yourself?

Ida Boujie: Next Question please! (Laughing) just kidding. Darn it another hard one to answer (laughs) I would have to say money and my cell phone (laughs).

SHH: Any embarrassing moment while working on the job (modeling)?

Ida Boujie: (laughing) Oh man! There were a few times where I would have a wardrobe malfunction with my tops mostly but I make sure those pictures are deleted off the camera (laughing).  But all in all I’m a comical person so I’m always laughing, even when there’s a few oopsies on the set.

SHH: So let’s get personal… Are you currently in a relationship?

Ida Boujie: No.

SHH: You’re extremely beautiful how do you keep your sanity with men trying to talk to you every 10 seconds?

Ida Boujie: Awww, thank you (giggles)! Yeah it’s hard to avoid the encounters (laughing). I’m pretty shy so I don’t talk to guys really unless my friends are cool with them and then I’ll give them a chance to talk to me. If I’m driving on the freeway and there’s a guy that is driving on side trying to get my attention I pretend like I don’t see him and switch three lanes over (laughing).

SHH: So what type of men do you go for?

Ida Boujie: Sad to say but I go for the guys who are either assholes or the ones who are good for me, but don’t have enough time for me.

SHH: If you had to date a woman who would it be?

Ida Boujie: My girl Mary (laughs).  She’s a great kisser (laughs) Mary and I are both sensual girls who love to have fun and be happy! I wouldn’t worry about her breaking my heart because a woman knows what another woman wants and breaking a person’s heart is out of the question!

SHH: Would you say that you are a sexual person? If so, what is your favorite sexual position?

Ida Boujie: More like an ice queen (laughing) just kidding! I am a sexual person but then again I’m not. I don’t have sex on my mind like every five minutes but I am sexual when it comes to that appropriate time. I don’t really have a favorite position (laughing) just as long as I’m saying “Oh God!” and I say it like I really mean it then a job well-done! (Laughing).

SHH: Name some of your positive influences?

Ida Boujie: My mother and my late father.

SHH: How can people get in contact with you for possible work?

Ida Boujie: You can e-mail me at: idamayboujie@hotmail.com and you can add me as a friend on MySpace: www.myspace.com/idaboujie serious inquiries only please!

SHH: Who would you like to thank?

Ida Boujie: I know a lot of People say “first and foremost I want to thank God.” And I’m a part of that group too. I thank God everyday for his blessings and for surrounding me with people who I hold close to my heart. I want to thank my mom and dad for being there for me and teaching me everything I know. Thanks to my school teachers for giving me the knowledge that made me the smart woman I am today! I want to thank my fans for their unconditional love and support! And a special thanks to STR8HIPHOP dot com for taking the time to interview me (laughs).
