Air Jordan 14 Mule: Read the Unisex Size Label Before Buying
Decode Mowalola Air Jordan 14 Mule men's and women's size labels, check Nike conversions, and separate the size chart from slip-on fit.

For the Mowalola x Air Jordan 14 Retro Mule, check whether the seller’s size selector uses US men’s or US women’s numbers. Above The Clouds explicitly lists this model in men’s US sizing: its US 9 is also labeled US women’s 10.5. “Unisex” does not mean the same US number applies to both. See the model’s retailer size chart.
Use that conversion to identify the size to try—not as proof that the mule fits exactly like a lace-up Jordan 14.
Which Jordan 14 Mule does this cover?
This guide covers the Mowalola x Air Jordan 14 Mule, style IR0908-001, in Black, Metallic Silver and Burnt Red. Sneaker Bar Detroit identifies that style code and describes the release as unisex. It is the slip-on collaboration, not the conventional lace-up AJ14. Model and release details.
That distinction matters when shopping: advice for a standard Jordan 14—or another Jordan mule—is not automatically advice for this pair.
Convert the label before adjusting the fit
Nike’s official footwear chart pairs US women’s sizes with US men’s sizes 1.5 sizes lower. The Mowalola mule’s Above The Clouds listing uses the same relationship. These examples are label conversions, not a guarantee of stock or fit. Nike’s official chart.
| Your US women’s Nike size | Equivalent US men’s selector size |
|---|---|
| 7.5 | 6 |
| 8 | 6.5 |
| 8.5 | 7 |
| 9 | 7.5 |
| 9.5 | 8 |
| 10 | 8.5 |
| 10.5 | 9 |
| 11 | 9.5 |
| 11.5 | 10 |
For example, if you normally wear Nike women’s 9, the corresponding label is men’s 7.5. That is a conversion between scales, not a recommendation to buy a smaller-fitting shoe.
Before checking out:
- If the selector says US men’s, use the men’s equivalent.
- If it says US women’s, use the women’s number; do not subtract 1.5 again.
- If it only says US or unisex, ask the seller which scale it uses.
- For UK or EU listings, use Nike’s chart rather than applying the US 1.5-size rule.
If you are measuring from scratch, Nike recommends measuring both feet and using the longer measurement. It also warns that the CM/JP number on a box is not the same as measured foot length. Nike measurement instructions.
Should you size up or down for the mule?
Treat your usual Nike size, correctly converted, as a try-on starting point—not a confirmed true-to-size verdict. The unisex listing and size chart do not establish whether this model runs small or large, or justify an automatic half-size adjustment.
Mowalola removes the traditional lacing system and adds a stretchy, neoprene-backed suede forefoot panel. That changes how you assess the fit: there are no laces to tighten or loosen across the foot. Sole Retriever’s construction details.
Try the pair with the socks you intend to wear. Check that your toes are not pressed against the front, the forefoot panel does not create uncomfortable pressure, and your heel sits on the footbed rather than hanging over its rear edge. Walk a few steps and check whether your foot stays comfortably seated.
Do not size down solely to stop movement if that crowds your toes, or size up solely to relieve pressure without checking the resulting length and retention. For this laceless model, a seller’s exchange or return terms are especially worth checking before an untried purchase. Our sneaker fit checklist helps separate length, width and volume problems.
