Use the conversion for the men’s or women’s listing you’re buying; the same Italian number does not carry the same US label across both charts. Do not treat “Ball Star runs bigger” as a universal instruction to buy smaller. Nordstrom’s men’s Ball Star listing says the brand considers it true to size; its women’s exclusive Ball Star listing carries a true-to-size recommendation from Nordstrom’s fit experts. Notice that IT 40 is US women’s 10 but US men’s 7. Also, the brand’s “Foot length” and “JP (cm)” columns are separate: women’s IT 39 lists a 25.7 cm foot length but JP 25.5. Don’t substitute the JP label for a measured foot length. (Official chart)

What if you wear a half size?

For the Nordstrom Ball Star listings above, following their next-size-up advice gives these starting points:

• US women’s 8.5 → IT/EU 39, listed as US women’s 9.
• US men’s 9.5 → IT/EU 43, listed as US men’s 10.

Before ordering, measure both feet. Golden Goose instructs buyers to put a foot on paper with the heel beside a wall, mark the farthest toe, and measure the distance from the wall; repeat for the other foot and compare with its chart. Check the fit before keeping the pair

Only keep the smaller size if it improves hold without crowding your toes. Only keep the larger size if it relieves pressure without leaving your foot sliding around. Sizing up is a comparison to try, not a guarantee that a narrow model will suit a wide foot. Nike’s general fit guidance likewise calls for room to move the toes and a snug midfoot and heel—not a foot that slides inside the shoe.
